Duped investors of Ontario ‘crypto king' cause mansion sale reversal

Canadian NBA basketball star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has won a lawsuit reversing his purchase of an $8.4 million mansion after threatening strangers kept visiting the property looking for its previous tenant: Ontario’s self-proclaimed ‘crypto king.’ Gilgeous-Alexander filed the lawsuit in X this year. He claimed the estate agents had misrepresented the property as “private and secure” and failed to disclose a “safety risk.” The pro-athlete claimed strangers threatened to burn down the property, attempted to break in , and bothered owners in pursuit of ‘crypto king’ Aiden Pleterski. Gilgeous-Alexander won the lawsuit on November 27. Legal victory for Tether and Bitfinex as plaintiff drops lawsuit

Cryptocurrency stablecoin company Tether shared on X that the plaintiff had ended the appeal in the multi-year courtroom battle. Tether initially denied allegations of misconduct via a written statement one day before the lawsuit was filed in 2019. Coinbase shares up 50% since SEC lawsuit

Senior Coinbase executives, including CEO Brian Armstrong, have been selling their shares amid the stock’s growth over the past month. Despite the Coinbase cryptocurrency exchange facing a securities violation lawsuit in the United States, the company’s stock has been on the rise recently. Coinbase stock has added more than 50% to its value since the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filed a lawsuit against the firm for allegedly offering unregistered securities. According to data from TradingView, Coinbase shares surged 51%, from around $52 on June 6 to $78.7 on July 7. Yuga Labs, Moonpay faces lawsuit over celebrities NFT promotion

Over 40 people and companies are named as defendants in the lawsuit, including Paris Hilton, Snoop Dog, Jimmy Fallon, Justin Bieber, Madonna. Yuga Labs, creators of Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and crypto fintech Moonpay are facing a class-action lawsuit for allegedly using celebrities to misleadingly promote and sell nonfungible tokens (NFTs).  Over 40 people and companies are named as defendants in the lawsuit , including Paris Hilton, Snoop Dog, Jimmy Fallon, Justin Bieber, Madonna, Serena Williams, Post Malone, and Diplo.
